Time and time again, my dad reminds me what it is to be completely selfless and truly unconditional. Mr. Z ain’t no ordinary man.

On Tuesday, my father headed to the streets of downtown Los Angeles with a friend and set up a sign and chair for free haircuts. On the sidewalk, he began to give haircuts to the homeless and to ask them about their lives. They shared the difficulties they encountered and how they came to a point of hopelessness and misery. According to their testimonies they experienced neglect, lack of love, and bad fortune.

People advised him to be careful of lice and suggested wearing gloves, but he did not want to treat them that way. He erased any concepts that the homeless were any different from the rest of us. He served them humbly and gave them each a dollar bill. Which he says changed them a lot, some tried to kiss them or helped by sweeping the floor of hair. A little goes a long way.

The main thing I worry about is what? Studying? School is constantly drilled into my mind and I forget the big world out there. Sure, I should help myself first and get that education, but I want to make it a point to truly live for the sake of others in the latter part of my life. And in little ways now. And you know what? When I think of a man who is always doing God’s work, my father is one of the first to come to mind.

Now my Dad has enough experience to cut my hair. He invited me to his “salon” but there would be no $1 given. Haha.

So this is an absolutley brilliant idea! Just attach the plug on to a window and it will harness solar energy. A small converter will convert it into electricity which can be freely used as a plug when you are in the car, on a plane or outside.

Love this design and I really think it has a great potential.

British photographer Jessica Hilltout on the Christmas Eve traveled to Africa and photographed all variants of footballs she encountered. There are examples from Malawi, Ghana, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Benin and Mozambique.

It is almost unbelievable what will all poor children use to play certainly the most popular sport game in Africa. The poorest soccer balls left us to think about what does football mean to some, it still is - unspoiled game that those who have nothing - means everything.

“Every ball for me is like the most beautiful and the most valuable gem. It really is a beautiful symbol of passion for football, and intelligence of the younger generation.” Said the 33-year old British woman.

“This is not a gallery of football or a gallery about Africa. This is a story about the beauty and power of the human spirit”, she added.
